Acclaimed for his deep musicianship and virtuosity, Chin Kim is one of the most sought after violinists today, has concertized extensively throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. He has appeared as a guest artist with the Philadelphia, St. Louis, Montreal and Atlanta Symphony Orchestras and has played under the baton of such conductors as Leonard Slatkin, John Nelson, and Myung-Whun Chung, and Sixten Ehrling.
Mr. Kim was the top prizewinner in such prestigious international competitions as the Concours Internationale de Musique de montreal, the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the Paganini Competition, and the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. Hes recordings include the Prokofiev No. 2, the Glazunov, and the Tchaikovsky concertos with Paul Freeman conducting the St. Petersburg (Russia) and the Moscow Philharmonics, the Prokofiev No. 2 with David Oei at the piano, the Mendelssohn c minor, and the Tchaikovsky piano trios with the "Starr-Kim-Boeckheler Piano Trio".
Mr. Kim is the recipient of the Nan-Pa Prize, one of the highest honors given to Korean-born musicians. He graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music and subsequently from the Juilliard where he received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, the Petschek Award, and the Concerto Soloist Award.

Yuri Kim

Yuri Kim, pianist, has been critically acclaimed for the power and poetry of her playing by the New York Times and Newsday. Her recording "Beethoven Works for Piano" was awarded 'Best Debut Album' by National Public Radio and was highly praised by critics.
Ms. Kim has performed extensively throughout North America, Asia, Russia and Europe, appearing with such conductors as Vladimir Feltsman (Hudson Valley Philharmonic and the International Sejong Soloists), Heichiro Oyama (Los Angeles Philharmonic), and Yoel Levi (Atlanta Symphony Orchestra).
She has also performed with the KBS Symphony and the Buchon Philharmonic, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Round Top Festival Orchestra, the New Paltz Festival Orchestra and the New York Symphony of Seoul.
She has appeared in recital at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. She has performed concertos at the 92nd Street &, the Aspen Music Festival and the Seoul Art Center. Ms. Kim has been seen on NBC"s 'Today Show' with Jane Pauly and on 'City Arts' on PBS, where she appeared with Glen Dicterow, Robert Spano and Synton Marsalis. Ms. Kim received Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Mannes School of Music, where she studied with Nina Svetlanova and Edward Aldwell. She is currently on the College Division piano faculty at Mannes.
