During
2004 ~ 2006, Pianist Dae-Woo Yoon has appeared solo with the New York
Sinfonietta, Vidian Philharmonic, Shim-Yang Orchestra, Ureuk Symphony,
Suwon Philharmonic and Korean Symphony, and solo recitals in Europe
including the Centre Culturel et Artisitque at Le Moulin d¡¯ande and
at the La Schola Cantorum in France.
He had a successful New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall¡¯s Weill
Recital Hall in 1999 as a winner of the Artist International Competition.
His performance - a program commemorating the 150th anniversary of
the death of Frederic Chopin - led a reviewer from New York Concert
Review to note his ¡°balance of such delicacy and energy¡±.
In addition, Mr. Yoon¡¯s interest upon contemporary music led him premiere
a piano concerto of a 2004 Toru Takemitsu prize winner, and his doctoral
dissertation is based on ¡°Spectral Music of Joshua Fineberg¡± who currently
serves as an associate faculty at Harvard University.
His upcoming events include concerti performances particularly sponsored
by Yamaha Piano in New York as well as solo recitals in New York(Alice
Tully Hall), Korea(Seoul Arts Center), and Italy.
Mr. Yoon was awarded full scholarships(Young Chang Award) and honored
as top student at Hanyang University in South Korea where he earned
his bachelor¡¯s degree and won the school¡¯s concerto competition and
played with Hanyang Orchestra.
His debut performance in Korea was sponsored by the Chosun Journal
in 1994. Mr. Yoon received Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2005 under
the tutelage of Dr. Arkady Aronov from Manhattan School of Music,
where he also received his Master of Music degree and the Professional
Studies. His other teachers have included Mee-Kyung Yoon, Jae-Hee
Hyun, and Irina Morozova.
