MEET THE ARTISTS

MARK COGLEY
Piano

Mark Cogley has, for many years, worked as a vocal coach and accompanist. He was the pianist/coach for the Teatro Grattacielo's recent performance of Leoncavallo's Zaza, and is active as music director for St. Stephen's Church in New York City.

NAN HUH
Flute

NAN HUH made her NY recital debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, sponsored by the KMF. She has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the St. Petersburg Philharmonic (Russia), the Pan Asia Symphony (Hong Kong) and the KBS Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic and the Incheon City Philharmonic in her native Korea. Ms. Huh has also appeared in concerts at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall (New York) and at the Kennedy Center (Washington DC). Ms. Huh is the founding member of the contemporary music group Soundclock.
JOHANNES STRING QUARTET

JOHANNES STRING QUARTET plays with passion, warmth, elegance, poetry and the balance of their four voices makes each of their concerts a memorable experience. The Johannes brings together the first American to win the Paganini Violin Competition in 24 years, Soovin Kim; an Avery Fisher Career grant winner, Catherine Cho; the Associate Principal viola of the Philadelphia Orchestra, C.J. Chang and the principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Peter Stumpf. In addition to their recent broadcast on NPR¡¯s Performance Today and NPR¡¯s St. Paul Sunday and a triumphant Carnegie Hall debut, the Johannes has delighted audiences and critics alike in Chicago, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Washington DC, among others.
MICHELLE KIM
Piano
MICHELLE KIM has captivated audiences in Korea, China, Italy, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Latin America and throughout the United States. Her numerous engagements include performances at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Bargemusic, the Sejoung Cultural Center, Caramoor, the Dame Myra Hess Series at the Chicago Cultural Center, as soloist with the New Jersey Symphony, the Seoul Philharmonic, and the Bergen Philharmonic.
Ms. Kim's performances have been televised in South Korea, Italy and the U.S., and broadcast on radio stations throughout the U.S.
She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Juilliard and and has won top prizes in numerous competitions, including the Leschetizky and the Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev Piano Competitions. Future performances include orchestral engagements and recitals in New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Chicago, Seoul and Gualangyu (China).
DANIEL IHN-KYU LEE
Baritone

DANIEL IHN-KYU LEE made his Carnegie Hall debut with Eve Queler and the Opera Orchestra of New York's production of La Gioconda. Among his operatic roles, he has sung Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, the title role in Gianni Schicchi, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro and Peter in Hansel and Gretel. Mr. Lee has received numerous awards, including recognition from the Caruso International Competition and the Puccini Foundation International Voice Competition. He was a Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition Eastern Regional finalist. Mr. Lee received a full scholarship to The Juilliard School, graduating from the Professional Studies program. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music from the Korean National University of the Arts.
SANG-EUN LEE
Soprano
SANG-EUN LEE, born in South Korea, earned a Bachelor of Music degree at Seoul National University. She completed her Master's degree at Mannes College and Music and Professional Studies at the Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Lee's operatic performances include the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, Gilda in Rigoletto and as Pamina in The Magic Flute at Sejoung Concert Hall in Korea. She appears in recital and has been a soloist in the Brahms Requiem and Orff's Carmina Burana.
SE-HWAN PARK
Piano
SE-HWAN PARK, a native of Seoul, Korea, earned his Bachelor of Music degree as a scholarship student at Chung Nam National University. He was selected to perform at the Sejoung Cultural Center and to play the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2 with the Chung Nam Orchestra as the first place winner in the 1994 Concerto Competition. He performs regularly in solo recitals and as a collaborative pianist. Mr. Park was the rehearsal pianist for the Mannes Opera department. He has also performed with numerous singers and instrumentalists in Korea and New York. Mr. Park recently performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No.2 with the Astrakahn National Conservatory Orchestra (Russia). He is currently the principal pianist at the United Korean Church (New York).
