MEET THE ARTISTS
Korean Soprano Yunah Lee has sung regularly with New York City Opera since her debut in 1995. She has performed numerous operatic roles in North and South America and throughout Europe and Asia. She is especially known and praised for her portrayal of the title character in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, having performed it over 100 times. Solo Recital venues include Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Sao Paulo and Los Angeles. Ms. Lee is a Juilliard Opera Center alumna and also holds a Master's degree from The Juilliard School. Ms. Lee's recording credits include "Four Seasons of Korea" with I Musici on the Arcadia label.
Collaborative pianist Juny Jung was presented in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in 2004 receiving the highest acclaim. He has also given recitals at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City. He has participated in the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California where he received a full scholarship. He is the Music Director of the Simons’ Pond Music Festival & School, a well known chamber music series in northeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His music has been broadcast in many occasions on WJFF National Public Radio as well as on WQXR. Mr. Jung received Masters Degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and the Mannes College of Music where he earned a Professional diploma as well. He has been a guest lecturer at NYU and pianist for the annual Dalton Baldwin Master class at Korea Music Foundation.
David Oei, pianist, was a soloist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic at the age of nine and has since performed with major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore Symphonies. Mr. Oei is the winner of five Interlochen Concerto Competitions and the Concert Artists Guild, WQXR Young Artists, Young Musicians Foundation and Paul Ulanowsky Chamber Pianists Awards. A perennial fixture on the New York City chamber music scene he has made guest appearances with the Audubon Quartet, Strathmere Ensemble, Claring Chamber Players, Friends of Mozart, Da Capo Chamber Players, New York Philharmonic Ensembles, St. Luke’s and Orpheus Chamber Ensembles and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
Flutist Sang Joon Park was the recipient of the prestigious 2005 Samuel Baron Prize awarded at SUNY Stony Brook University where he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree under Carol Wincenc. He studied with distinguished flutists such as Wilbert Hazelzet, Sandra Miller, Janet See, Stephen Schultz, Jed Wentz, Linda Chesis, Judith Mendenhall and Thomas Nyfenger, and participated in Amherst Early Music Festival, Longy Baroque Institute, and Vancouver Early Music Programme. He is the artistic director of the Baroque trio Aula Harmoniae, and is a member of several Baroque chamber groups including Rossignols Amoureux, The Soul’s Delight, Flying Forms, Ensemble La Sylva, Newton Baroque, La Donna Musicale, Catacoustic Consort, Bacchanalia Baroque, Empire Viols, Concert Royal, and The Grand Tour Orchestra, with performances in Canada, Peru, the Netherlands, Taiwan and the United States.
Hailed by New York Times as “first rate,” and by the NY Post for her “dramatic sensitivity,” Misoon Ghim’s reputation springs from her riveting performances on the stages of New York City Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia Orchestra, among many others. Her extensive operatic repertoire ranges from Händel to Verdi, and includes the fresh relevance she transmitted in Wuorinen’s Haroun and the Sea of Stories. Ms.Ghim’s sublime aesthetic in interpreting the classics has placed her on the orchestral concert stage with world-class conductors such as Sawallisch, Eschenbach and Summers. Her first commercial recording of baroque repertoire will be released in 2012. Ms. Ghim was educated at The Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music.

Acclaimed for his deep musicality and virtuosity and a top prizewinner in several of the most prestigious of international violin competitions, including the Concours International Musique de Montréal, the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the Paganini Competition, and the Indianapolis International Violin Competition, Chin Kim is one of the most sought-after violinists of today. Mr. Kim has been performing concerts extensively throughout North America, Asia, and Europe as a guest artist with orchestras such as Philadelphia, St. Louis, Montréal, Czech Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony, and with all major orchestras in Korea, with conductors Leonard Slatkin, John Nelson, Myung Whun Chung, Gerhardt Albrecht, Ling Tung, and Ianzug Kakhitzhe.
